What did PM Imran Khan tell Sarfaraz Ahmed?

The Pakistan team is in England where it will play a series against the home side before taking part in the ICC Cricket World Cup. All eyes will be on Sarfaraz Ahmed and his team as they seek to bring the trophy home for the second the time.

The first time was in 1992 and that team was led by Imran Khan who is now the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Prime Minister Khan met with the team prior to their departure for England and sources have informed this scribe of the interesting conversation he had with skipper Sarfaraz.

During the meeting with the team, Prime Minister Imran Khan praised Sarfaraz Ahmed and told him that under his leadership the team was capable of winning the World Cup. Prime Minister Imran Khan told Sarfaraz Ahmed that winning the tournament was not mission impossible. People present at the meeting said the prime minister expressed utmost confidence in the leadership skills of Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also cautioned players to be careful of people involved in illegal activities such as spot-fixing.

The meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Pakistan team lasted for over an hour.

Pakistan will play their first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup on May 31 against West Indies. Mohammad Amir was left out of the 15-member squad with Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hassan Ali expected to lead the Pakistan pace attack.
